Hands-on Educational club

These clubs are created to support learning about rainforests, conservation and exotic animals of the jungle age 6 +.

The Jungle Hut clubs provides home educated children an insightful and fun introduction and understanding of the importance of the exotic animals and their habitats.

The next session is upon us and we are now taking bookings for our Home Ed club.

This term we will be learning the basics of Zoology focusing more on the animals again.

Zoology is the branch of science that deals with the study of animals. In these lessons they will learn about some of the specific details that zoologists study, such as animal behaviour and how animals interact in their environment.

With the animals we have at The Jungle Hut, children this term will study the animal behaviour, their bodies, and how they interact with their environment and other animals.

What is Zoology?

Zoology is a huge field in science and many zoologists actually specialise in a specific group of animals such as herpetology - study of reptiles and amphibians, Invertebrate zoology - the study of invertebrates, animals without a backbone,

but to name a few.

Zoology is important because it helps humans to understand how they are affecting other animals. Changes in animal behaviour can affect the growth of their bodies and therefore affect how they interact with their environment. In addition, zoologists determine if animals are in danger of becoming extinct..

We have a highly engaging, educational and enriching programme for the next 5 week workshop,

All our sessions involve hands-on interaction with our animal ambassadors (including snakes, lizards, monitors and amphibians) under the careful supervision of our dedicated Jungle Hut team. We also include educational craft activities in the sessions and children create their own work folder to take home once the 5 weeks is over.

Any questions please message us.

This is recommended as a Drop off and Pick up session

NEW FOR 2023:

We ask that our session are a drop off and pick up but as the tearoom facing the jungle hut has now closed its doors and we are unsure when someone will take over. We have now created a small jungle themed seating area within the jungle hut for a maximum of 8-9 adults. We also offer tea, coffee and cold drinks for a small charge.

As not all parents can stay with in the jungle hut during the session there is other lovely places to visit just walking distance from the jungle hut..

The Earlswood Lakes: Enjoy this 6.8-km circular trail just over from The Jungle Hut. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 46 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, fishing, and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring.

The Red Lion Pub: Traditional inn offering a relaxed atmosphere for classic pub fare, cask ales and wines, plus fires. A DOG FRIENDLY PUB.

Ambleside Bistro and Garden Centre:Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Ice Cream, Coffee, Tea and

Cake, plus non alcoholic bar.
