Hands-on Educational club

These clubs are created to support learning about rainforests, conservation and exotic animals of the jungle age 6 +.

The Jungle Hut clubs provides home educated children an insightful and fun introduction and understanding of the importance of the exotic animals and their habitats.

The next session are now open for bookings.

Welcome to the Jungle Hut Keeper Term! This unique 5-week program is designed for home-educated students who are passionate about animals, nature, and conservation. Starting in January, each student will step into the role of a Jungle Hut Keeper, taking responsibility for the care and well-being of one of our amazing reptiles or amphibians.

Throughout the term, students will:

  • Learn the basics of animal husbandry, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their chosen animal's health.

  • Dive into the Animal Welfare Act, discovering the five welfare needs crucial for all animal caretakers and establishments.

  • Document their animal’s growth, behaviour, and health for our Record Book.

  • Gain hands-on experience by maintaining the enclosure tailored to their animal’s needs.

  • Design and create enrichment items for their chosen animal.

As part of our mission to foster conservation advocacy, students will also have the opportunity to plan and design a sponsor package for their chosen animal. Over the course of 4 weeks, students will take a professional photograph of their chosen animal, design the layout and appearance of the sponsor pack, and decide what items will be included in the pack. This hands-on activity will teach them how to create an engaging and visually appealing sponsorship program that inspires others to support wildlife conservation.

At the end of the term, each student will receive a finished, professionally printed sponsor pack to take home—a proud culmination of their hard work and dedication!

In addition, the Jungle Hut is excited to announce plans to bring in a new endangered species during this term. Students will have the incredible opportunity to learn about this species, its needs, and the threats it faces in the wild. They will also help maintain its habitat, helping to play a vital role in its conservation journey and supporting our commitment to protecting wildlife.

The Jungle Hut Keeper Term is an immersive, educational journey that combines practical animal care skills with creativity, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation. Get ready to become an advocate for the incredible creatures that share our world!
